Living in Urbana-Champaign

The University of Illinois campus is situated within the twin cities of Urbana and Champaign in east central Illinois, less than a three hour drive from Chicago, St. Louis or Indianapolis. With a combined population of 105,000, Champaign-Urbana is rich in social, cultural, and recreational resources and provides a quality of living typical of a much larger metropolitan area while maintaining the ease of small-town living.

The community offers multiple health care centers and two full-service hospitals, award-winning park facilities and programs, a nationally recognized mass-transit system, and ample affordable housing. (More about the Champaign-Urbana Community)
